Marjorie I (Hughes) Whidden, 92, wife of the late Albert E. Whidden, passed peacefully in her sleep at home in Danvers, MA, on Sunday, June 26th. Daughter of the late Llewellyn I. and Myrtle M. Hughes. Marj was born and raised in Poultney, VT, with her late brothers, Llewellyn (Skip) E. and Hayden A Hughes.

Marj was a strong and independent woman with a great sense of humor. She graduated from Albany Business School, worked in the insurance industry, and was employed for many years by Tidewater Oil company, where she met Al, the love of her life, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

She was a devoted mother and is survived by her two sons, Scott D. & Glenn A. Whidden, and their partners, Michelle Reed and Lisa Crumley, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Rebecca J Bywater-Whidden and Max C. Whidden.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Care Dimensions or Holy Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Her memorial service will take place in August. Further details to be furnished.

Much love to Marj in her transition from this plane, and much love to you, Scott, for sharing your journey with her with so many of us. May you and yours be surrounded by nothing but love at this time now-and forever. Where there is deep grief, there is deep love, and that has been viscerally abundant. Rest well, Marj.
