I am sorry to hear about Mark. He introduced me to British comedy on public television. I always loved spending time with Eve, Mark and Carol provided a comfortable, fun place to hang out. He was a sweet man.

Carol and Family,

Pastor Mark was so generous with his time! From longtime church Members and New Visitors to Family and Friends, He was always willing to step away from his busy schedule to listen to the concerns of others. Just like JESUS would have spent his time.
I remember How Mark was there for My Wife, with the loss of her GrandMother and how COMPASSIONATE he was!
I thank GOD for Mark Bayert having added so much to our lives in so many ways!

While I was the Oak Grove Church librarian, Mark would regularly come into the library and check out books. He was always conscientious, scholarly, and fully aware of world events and how he could relate them to us. As he spoke from the pulpit, I listened intently, fully engaged in his insights and wisdom.

Mark had been volunteering for our Men's Group at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington this summer and fall. His gifts of caring, relating, sharing and being himself were greatly appreciated by the men. They are grieving the man they barely knew.... the man they looked forward to seeing each Wednesday. We are so thankful for the time he shared with us. We are also thankful for the unfortunate reminder that life can be short, uncertain, and in God's hands. Our prayers are with the Bayert's family as they grieve the loss and celebrate the person.

My husband Dan and I are so sorry for your loss. Pastor Mark was always fun to listen to. We knew him during our time at Oak Grove church and he really knew how to put certain things. Your family and the community will be in our thoughts and prayers during this time.

Carol and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Mark. He was our pastor in Bismarck and then again to my parents, Bill and Jane Murray, when he came to Minneapolis. He was such a kind and caring man. He visited my dad many times during his illiness and I know that it was a comfort to both of my parents. He wrote kind words that were said at my dad's funeral and was very good to my mom during those tough times. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

The Addo family will always be grateful for Pastor Bayert's friendship, and the kindness he showered on us, including his baked goods, recipes and comforting words.
We will never forget the wonderful funeral service he provided when our family needed it.

He always spoke so lovingly about his family and especially about his wife Carol. What a wonderful example of a good and christian family man.

We will miss him dearly.

We pray for comfort for his family.

Carol and family,
We were so suprised to hear about Mark and we send our deepest heart felt sorrow. Mark, you and your family have been some of our best memories. We wish we could be with you at this time but not able to. Mark and Rick have shared a lot of good times, sledding and playing chess in the church tower. Thank you for your friendship and we enjoyed your visits at Anchor Inn and you Carol for talking to Gin on your last visit. Again thank you and you are in our prayers and thoughts.

I first heard of Mark when I arrived in Rock Island shortly after he had gone to Bismark. Our paths did not cross until a mission trip to Guatemala in 1999. Before his retirement we saw each other frequently at Presbyterian events. He was a strong witness for Christ's mission and a quiet presence of faith. I pray God will give comfort to his loved ones as he is given rest from his labor.
