Mark Dearborn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2024.
Mark Anthony Dearborn, 56, of Burleson, TX, tipped his cap for the final time on February 19, 2024.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 5, 1967, Mark swung into the life of a military family and lived in several states in the U.S. prior to the family settling in Richmond, ME. Mark graduated high school from Richmond High in 1986 and his Varsity Basketball team still owns the only Gold Ball in the trophy case. After graduation, Mark joined the Air Force and then the Texas Air National Guard. He was honorably discharged in 2000.

Mark returned to Fort Worth, TX to escape the cold winters in Maine. He embraced life in Texas, always ready to spin a yarn or share a laugh, especially if it was about his golf game, his beloved Texas Rangers or his famous tattoo. His heart was as warm as a Texas afternoon, and he never encountered a stranger he couldn't befriend or a bar sport at which he didn't excel.

On the home front, he was the MVP for his wife Heather, his children Patrick and Carissa, and son's girlfriend Kayla. His team of siblings-Lawrence Jr and wife, Danette; Rose and husband, David; Charlie and wife, Kathy; Tom and wife, Lissa; and Ann and husband, Steven-will fondly remember his competitive spirit and camaraderie. Additionally, his many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and chosen family and friends will continue to keep his generosity and kindness alive through their memories. Preceding him in the great dugout in the sky were his parents, Lawrence Sr and Gisela, and his sister, Christine.

Mark's leisure league included golf, bar sports, and being a spectator extraordinaire for baseball and hockey. Some of his proudest moments include hitting a hole in one, throwing out the first pitch at a Rangers game and showing off the Dallas/Fort Worth area to anyone that came to visit. He was a true utility player in the game of life.

Fans and friends are invited to a home run celebration of Mark's life on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Oscar's Restaurant from 1pm-5pm. The address is 1581 SW Wilshire Blvd, #101, Burleson, TX 76028. It's sure to be a grand slam of memories and merriment. (A live band is scheduled for that evening if you care to enjoy that as well.)

As the final inning of Dearborn's life comes to a close, his legacy and jovial spirit will continue to light up the scoreboard. He may have hung up his cleats, but his stories and good deeds will keep the stadium lights on for years to come.

When I first came into the HVAC industry I didn't know how well I was going to like it. I got hired by Mark 7 years ago at Texas Ace and I'm still here. What I noticed about him the first few months about him, was his wealth of knowledge and immense amount of patience in passing that knowledge and skill to new or experienced techs. Mark was also a good Samaritan, he would pull over to help anyone out with car problems. Those who knew him also know theirs so much more that can be said and remembered about Mark.

I first met Mark and Heather about 25 years ago when they lived in SW Fort Worth. We used to get together to play poker with friends and Mark was usually in charge of the bank.
He was a great golfer, and I had the opportunity to play with him and attended his annual birthday golf outing several times.
He was funny, easygoing, and a great help when I had HVAC questions. I will always remember Mark when I hear "Texas Rangers" because everyone knows he was a Super Fan! I hope that he was aware that the Rangers won last year's World Series.
Mark, you will be missed.

When I was at a rangers game & Dearborn called me, couldn´t get away from work & asked if I would go find a particular sales rep. & buy him the playoff package. So to return that favor he took Mari & I to one of the playoff games.

Anytime on the golf course or at a rangers or a stars game. That guy knew everyone. Always with the handshake and a hug. One of, if not the best person I´ve met in Texas.
