Mark Richard Diamond

Just found out Mark was gone. I remember him as a friendly face walking around the halls of New Trier West high school, but wasn't super close to him. We could have crossed paths several times as adults, as he was active in financial law. Robertson Stephens handled stock options for a Silicon Valley semiconductor company I worked for, and Wilson Sansoni Goodrich & Rosati handled an IPO for a startup I worked for. I also enjoyed the Bay Area food scene, and always loved a good hotdog. And I was also a Chicago attorney's son and a classically-trained musician, though I chose engineering instead. If I'd have known Mark was living in the Bay Area, I'd have looked him up.

Ellen, my name is Howie Fierstein. I am Mark's first cousin. His father and my mom, Jeanette Diamond, were brother and sister. My wife, Alice, and I met with Mark when you lived in New York. Mark, the last two times we got together was memorable. It made me realize, that the reason you, Kevin, Craig and I became such close friends growing up was because we are so alike. We still are. Nothing will ever change our friendship. Ellen, I will always remember how Jill introduced you to Mark. It always puts a smile on my face. You two were meant for each other.

I remember sharing a table with Ellen and Mark at a real estate presentational installment. I find him affable, curious, and attentive. I´m glad I was able to get to spend an evening with him. Sending your family all my love and support as you navigate Mark´s loss. May not only his memory be an enduring blessing but may his name be spoken with love.

I am so sorry to hear about Mark. I was lucky enough to get to know him in the years of the real estate business with Ellen. After the 13+ years, you are family. The Jesery connection between Ellen and I a no brainer, but one of the reasons I think Ellen and I understand each other so well is a lot of the similarities between our husbands. A quick wit, smart, a litttle irreverent, a love of music and a general idea that if anyone else has a problem that it really their issue. Mark was always there to help proof read and help keep some perspective in some challenging moments in the real estate world. Loved getting to go to see Blondie and X together and Mark was the one to indulge me in dancing to old school music after a APR Presidents club dinner fest thingy where I had way to much white wine. :-) Ellen, I love you and am here for you, and cherishing the memories to keep him alive with us all.

We attened Mark's Elvis Passover Seder when he and Ellen lived in New Jersey. We still still talk about it to this day. He was a great guy. RIP Mark. Many will miss you.
