Mark Dickson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 19 to Apr. 20, 2023.
Mark Dickson Pembroke - Mark Dickson, 52, of Pembroke, Massachusetts, passed away on April 18th, 2023. He was born on October 21st, 1970, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Billy and Reva Dickson, and was preceded in death by his parents and brother Billy Dickson Jr.

Mark was a loving father to his children, Reva Pietrzak, Madeline Dickson, and Trevor Dickson, and cherished his grandchildren, Levi and Willa Pietrzak. He is also survived by his sister Wanda Harbinson, partner Jackie Colella, and former wife and mother of their 3 children, Maureen Dickson Siedentopf.

Mark was a proud and supportive parent who loved his children more than anything. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending the day at the beach and fishing with his kids. Mark was a dedicated coach to his kids basketball and baseball teams. He beamed watching them compete in dog shows, baseball, basketball, softball, and soccer games. His memory will live on through his cherished friends and family.

Mark graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School and later attended Massasoit Community College.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Sunday, April 23rd, from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Duxbury American Legion, located at 5 West St. Duxbury, MA 02332.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, a cause close to Mark and his family's heart.

Thinking of Marks family today as we've reached one full year without him. When I think of Mark, I think of grilling on the patio in Duxbury or on the beach at Saquish. Summer definitely comes to mind when I think of him- fishing off the beach, homemade French fries and chicken burgers outside, golfing with Trev. Mark was a very casual and funny guy. Sometimes he made jokes so casually that I didn't realize they were jokes until a beat had passed and then it'd hit me and would laugh- usually making it funnier. Mark was also an absolute day 1 for his kids. He was 100% the type of parent that would help hide a body with no questions asked. He would be so proud of his kids today and I know he is always there with them beaming down on them. I hope you all, Trev, Reva, Maddie feel his love today and everyday.

Like so many others we first met Mark through little league. Ryan DeVon and Maddie became fast friends and we have great memories of games, cookouts and sitting in the stands cheering them on. We had some fun times for sure! Mark was a great coach and a loving, proud dad. Rest in peace Mark

Maureen, Reva, Maddie and Trevor,
I´m so sorry you all have to go through this huge loss, I know the road leading up to this has been difficult to say the least. I just hope that the wonderful memories will be a part in healing your broken hearts. Mark is very lucky to have been given so much love and I´m sure he´s done plenty to earn it. He helped raise three wonderful kids and hit it out of the park with Trevor (who I know the most). Losing someone hurts, losing someone you love hurts more but I know in time you´ll be able to smile when you think of him and all the treasured memories you have. I love seeing all the pictures of Trevor and his sisters with their dad fishing and knowing Trevor would always go fishing with mark whenever he could these past few years. My daughter is very lucky to be a part of this wonderful family.

All of us love all of you,
Bev Chisholm

I got a call from my best friend, your sister, the day you arrived among us and the day you left us. Both calls so significant.
I didn´t get to spend great amounts of time with you but I always knew how you were doing and what was going on in your life, after all that´s what best friends are for! They are the record keepers, the oral historians of their families. They keep the record when they share their stories with one another as they talk about family.

Dear Mark memories of your beautiful smile & a twinkle in your eye are what I will hold on to. I have known you to be a good man, full of love for family & friends. You are loved. We will hold you forever in our hearts.

I've never added comments to obituaries but after seeing Holli's pictures posted I felt I had to. Coaching against and with Mark from t-ball to Babe Ruth was one of the best if not the best experience I had in many years of youth coaching. I can't begin to count the number of practices and games we spent together for all-star baseball. While coaching we rarely disagreed on anything except maybe when he wanted to make sure he wasn't favoring his daughter Maddie. Believe me he wasn't, she was a great player in her own right. I still remember how proud he was when we finally beat Middleboro as 12year olds at a tournament and eliminated them. We were both ready for the after party right then. I'll always cherish the time we had together. Rest in Peace buddy. God Bless you and your family.

We met Mark when he first coached Jake (and Maddie´s) little league team. Mark continued to coach their summer traveling baseball team for many years. We spent countless hours at fields with our families and they were the best times. Mark had a positive impact on so many kids´ lives. I´m grateful that we had the pleasure of witnessing his kindness and generosity through the years. We will forever cherish those memories.

Sending all of my love to the whole Dickson family during this horrible time. With my sister and Trevor having been together for so long, I've become well-acquainted with the type of lifestyle Mark lived with his kids-- always envying their long days at Saquish beach, or admiring the continued support and dedication required when having such athletic kids. My heart hurts knowing that someone so important was taken from you, and while there's nothing anyone can do or say to ease the pain, I hope you find peace in knowing what an incredible legacy all of you will continue to leave behind in honor of your dad.

Little cousin..... you are so loved and so missed already. A good man....a great dad. Much love.,...so sorry our busy lives (wow) kept us from seeing each other as much as we would have liked. One hello or family get together........it´s like no time had passed at all. Your dimpled smile, a whisper a hug....you´ll always be remembered and loved...love Joanie
