Mark Fontenot Obituary

Fontenot, Mark N. Mark N. Fontenot, 46, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2006, after a brief illness. A resident of Alexandria, Va., Mr. Fontenot was employed by the General Services Administration as a program manager. He worked at the Ronald Reagan Building/International Trade Center at the time of his death. Mr. Fontenot was an avid dog owner. He was a longtime supporter of several animal-rescue leagues, including the Mid-Atlantic Chinese Shar Pei Rescue League from which he acquired his much beloved, recently deceased Shar Pei, Pandora. Mr. Fontenot is survived by his mother, Rose A. Quinn of Baton Rouge; brother, Robert Fontenot; sister-in-law, Elaine Fontenot; and nephew, Robby Fontenot. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mid-Atlantic Chinese Shar Pei Rescue League or to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., was on Wednesday, May 17, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation at St. Joseph Cathedral is on Thursday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Gerard F. Young. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory with graveside service conducted by Deacon James E. Wax.
