Mark Gioseffi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2025.
Mark M. Gioseffi, also known as "Gio," passed away on August 12, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 65. He was born on July 29, 1960, in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Emerson, New Jersey. A man with a kind soul, Mark carried the spirit of his hometown 'Cavos' with him throughout his life.

He was the beloved son of the late Andrew and Sophie Gioseffi. Mark is lovingly remembered by his brother Andrew and sister-in-law Ilene; his sister Lynne Walther and brother-in-law Paul; his niece Kara; and nephews Brian, Jason, Alex, and Eric.

Mark had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. An avid fisherman, he found peace casting a line into quiet waters. He also enjoyed bowling and biking. With a strong appreciation of music, he really enjoyed attending rock concerts. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Mark remained a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Jets, and Rangers-loyalty to his teams never wavered.

A Graveside Service will be held on October 27, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire good and kindness in others.

Donations in Mark's name can be made to American Stroke Association or to your preferred charity.

I´m very sad to hear of Mark´s passing. I did not know him very well during childhood into high school years in Emerson, but I remembered him often in the years since. My classmates, all of you, remain very special to me. Peace and wellness to Mark´s family and friends.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mark´s passing. Growing up together in Emerson has given all of us so many wonderful memories and Gio is a huge part of this. He was consistently kind, caring and very supportive no matter what. He has left us way too early but God is lucky, another angel has entered his gates. Sending his family my deepest condolences. May you forever rest in peace Gio.

I am so sorry for your loss. I´ll always remember how kind he was to my Mom and Frank. I know Frank tried his patience more than once. May he rest in peace, in God´s hands.

Mark was one of the kindest humans growing up, he had a heart of gold. I pray he is in peace and no pain. We grew up in Emerson and Mark was certainly a staple in town. May God hold you in his arms and bless your family. Rest in peace Gio.

I am so happy that I got to spend the last four years of Mark´s life with him in Florida. I enjoyed talking to him 3-4 times a week. He had a little accident with his shoulder and I Rehabilitate it for him when he came to my studio down here in Pompano Beach. When we got even closer, I was the one who intended most of the concerts in Florida with him. I am grateful for his friendship. He was a good man.

We were so sorry to hear about Mark's passing. All the Emerson Griffins remember the many, many happy times we shared with Andy, Mark, and Lynn on Erie Avenue, Briarwood Court, and, of course, Nimando Place. We had quite the childhood! All the Emerson Griffins send their love and their prayers.
