Mark Hudson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 12, 2009.
March 31, 1954 - Jan. 27, 2009.

A lifelong resident of Tyler, Mark was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and worked for a number of local businesses. He is remembered by family for his interest in camping and his enormous collection of camping gear. A self-proclaimed expert on many subjects, Mark had a wide circle of friends who enjoyed his visits. These included the employees of the Golden Road branch of Bank of America, who treated him like royalty and showed concern for his health. His niece and nephews were the beneficiaries of his advice and his more interesting possessions. He monitored his mother's medical appointments and was an entertaining "no-brother-good-in-law" to his sister's husband. Dogs and cats accepted him as one of their own and preferred to nap with him above all others.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Hudson; brother, Marshall Hudson; niece, Chelsea Hudson; and great-nephew, Mason Heath Dennis, all of Tyler. He is also survived by his sister, Diana Hudson, her husband David Mackey and their son Ross, all of Dallas, and their son and his wife, David and Laura Webber of Austin.

Mark's memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, at Marvin United Methodist Chapel at 2 p.m. with a reception immediately following at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mark's name to Hospice of East Texas.
