Kauffman - Mark, July 30, 1951 - February 11, 2023, passed away very suddenly in the emergency room of St. Charles Hospital. Mark was a longtime Port Jefferson resident who ran his own photography studio, Mark

Kauffman Photographer, in Port Jefferson for over two decades, first on Wynne Lane and later on at 713 Main Street. He photographed weddings all over Long Island as well as several Port Jefferson High School proms. He photographed Peter Duchin, Hillary Clinton, Alec Baldwin, and worked closely with Brookhaven Democrats. He also photographed Salt of Salt-n-Pepa at her wedding. He photographed Chita

River and Wynton Marsalis and was featured in magazines and a documentary by Michael Apted on wedding photographers. He also specialized in botanical photographs and delighted in photographing children, especially his own. One of those photos was selected for the cover of the PBS documentary, A Laugh, a Tear, a Mitzvah. In recent years he worked for New York Life, helping young families plan their financial futures. His hobbies included gardening and yoga. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Laurel Brett; his two children, David Brett and Mia Brett; and his beloved Bichon/Poodle,

Kafka. He will be sorely missed.
