We knew Susan and Mark in Chicago for many years and were blessed to consider them close friends. Mark was a ray of sunshine and we know how much he adored Susan. We were devastated to hear this news and send our thoughts and prayers to Susan, Kevin, Maddie, Ellen, and all the Schaners and Kays.

I worked closely with Mark for many years in the Plastics Distribution businesses I was involved in. Our business can be often challenging, but Mark approached it with his positive attitude and never-ending humor. He never failed to update me on Susan and his kids, and you could tell that they were the highest priority in his life. We were probably the only 2 people who could quote "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" word for word! He was extremely thrilled with his "SPAMALOT" coffee mug, and mentioned it to me again months ago when we spoke. I'm saddened at his loss, but blessed to have had the chance to get to know him, both personally and professionally. Prayers to you, Susan, and the family. Be comforted with the fact that Mark had touched many people you may not know and we're better for it!

I often cut grass at the same time as Mark, he always waved and smiled when we crossed paths. It's a small and simple thing, but I never left an interaction with Mark without feeling happier. Every time he interacted with my family he made it clear he'd put his neighbor's well-being before his own. He was a selfless man, a family man, and a Godly man. We love and miss you Mark, the ultimate neighbor.

Sensational man, loving and adoring husband, wonderful father and an incredible Catholic. He lived in the way the Lord asks us to. He walked in peace, serving the Lord with his life. You will always be respected and loved, Mark. Your family and friends mourn today but anxiously await our reunion through Christ's promise. Rest in peace my friend.

Susan and family. I am very sad to hear about the death of a dear friend and Emmaus Brother with whom I shared a birthday. Mark was a true Christian prayer warrior who loved life and his faith. He will be missed and I am certain that our Heavenly Father needed him. May he RIP.
