MARK BRIAN LEHMAN, 42, of Valdosta, went home to forever be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, The Christ, on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief but strong battle against cancer. Born on March 12, 1967 in Valdosta, Mark was the oldest son of Tim and Brenda Smith Lehman. He was a very valuable part of Lehman Roofing Co. until the loss of his sight in 1995. Mark was a member of New Covenant Church. He loved nature and the outdoors, especially fishing and prospecting for gold, and he was especially fond of animals. Mark's greatest joy in the end came from spending time with his family. Mark was very proud of his son Justin, and niece and nephews. Mark is survived by one son, Justin Matthew Lehman; his parents, Tim and Brenda Lehman; one brother, Brent and wife Lori Lehman; one sister, Heather Lehman; his favorite niece, Halle Grace Lehman; nephews, Dawson, Sawyer and Easton Lehman; his grandmother, Mildred Lehman; aunts and uncles, Martha Roberts and husband Eddie, Betty Brace, Julian Lehman, Jr. and wife Shirley, Beth Graham, and William (Billy) Smith, all of the Valdosta area; many cousins, including two special cousins, Steve Lehman of Smiths, AL, and Burt Zeigler of Orchard Hill; and his best friends, Curtis Jackson and Dan Brace. He was predeceased by his grandparents, J.L. Lehman, Sr., Douglas and Grace Smith. Funeral services for Mark will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 26, 2009, in the Chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home, Hahira, with Pastor Randy Stephen and Pastor Pat Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Mark's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
