Mark Mackay Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 2, 2025.
Mark David Mackay July 3, 1963 - August 17, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, and friend, Mark David Mackay, who passed away on August 17, 2025, after his courageous battle with cancer. Mark faced his illness with strength and dignity, leaving behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and kindness.

Mark was born on July 3, 1963, to Melvin and Marcia Mackay. He grew up with a love for the outdoors and was happiest when he was skiing down the slopes, spending time at Bear Lake, or enjoying the companionship of his animals. His adventurous spirit and joy for life will be remembered by all who knew him.

Mark worked as a skilled backhoe operator and was admired for his work ethic and dedication. Though he never sought recognition, his efforts and commitment made a lasting impact on those he worked with and served.

Above all else, Mark's greatest source of pride was his family. He is survived by his children CharLee, Samantha, Rylan, and Aubree, and his five grandchildren: Austynn, Wells, Stevie, Weylyn, and Banks. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and lessons will continue to guide them.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 8, 2025, @ 6:00 PM at Knudsen Park, where family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Mark and the life he lived so fully. (Address: 6293 Holladay Blvd, Holladay UT)

Though his earthly journey has ended, Mark's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His courage, warmth, and the joy he brought to others will never be forgotten.

I've known Mark, probably since he was born. We grew up in the same neighborhood and I am friends with his sister Mindy. He always had a great smile and a quite manner, at least around me. However, I did catch him peeking in my bedroom window!! Sending lots of love and comfort to his family.

Mark and I grew up together on 2990 East in Holladay. He was a great friend! Loved to go water and snow skiing with him. Sorry I won´t be able to attend the celebration of Mark´s life on September 8. My daughter is getting married that weekend. Love and peace to the whole family. Sincerely, Brett Hooper
