Mark Milano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 19 to Sep. 20, 2007.
MILANO Mark Douglas Mark Douglas Milano, age 55, of Toledo, passed away Monday morning after a 3 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 13, 1952, to Angelo and Mary Jane. He graduated from Bedford High School and married the love of his life, Sondra Box in 1984, together they raised three sons. Mark was dedicated to all his sons' activities and rarely missed an event in which they participated. He co-founded M&F Machine and Tool Inc. in 1972. Mark took great pride in the business and was highly respected and loved by his employees. He was an avid golfer and a member of Sylvania Country Club for 22 years. He was also a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and Notre Dame football. Mark was a great family man who always put his family first. He will be truly missed. Mark is survived by his wife, Sondra; sons, Nicholas, Michael, and Zachary; mother, Mary Jane (Siwa) Milano (John) Takas; father, Angelo (Judy) Milano; loving sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Sonny Price; two brothers, and a host of family and friends, especially Marcia Box and Debbie Rowland whom Mark was particularly close to. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; niece; and nephew, Dr. Mark Price who also lost his battle with cancer. Family and friends may visit at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave.(west of Corey Rd.), on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tolcher and his staff in San Antonio, TX for their excellent care. Dr. Tolcher's research toward a cure for Sarcoma and other forms of cancer is invaluable. In lieu of flowers tributes may be made to Care for a Cure, S.T.A.R.T., 4319 Medical Dr., Suite 205, San Antonio, TX 78229. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com

Sondra, Nick, Mike & Zach:
Our hearts are breaking at the loss of Mark. We will cherish and fondly remember the happier, fun times with Mark. Like the day in Florida on the pier with the pelican. And Mark grilling out at the condo. What a super chef! Those were the good old days.
