Mark Nickell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 14, 2024.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Mark H. Nickell on October 9, 2024, at the age of 73, in Modesto, CA. Mark was born on September 21, 1951 in Manhattan, KS to the late Eugene and Mary (Walker) Nickell. He grew up in Palo Alto, CA where he attended Cubberley High School and graduated in 1969. Mark then attended college at California State University, Chico and San Jose State University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1974.

Mark settled in Modesto, CA where he raised his family, with his wife Paula, and worked in sales until his retirement in 2014. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, beach vacations, concerts, and watching sports. He loved a good steakhouse and especially loved ending his days with a decadent dessert.

Mark is survived by his wife of 43 years Paula Nickell, children Ryan (Jessica) Nickell and Ashley (Benjamin) Clyde, grandsons Carter Clyde and Landon Nickell, granddaughters Riley Clyde and Leyla Nickell, two brothers Walter (Rory) and Shawn Nickell, brother-in-law Chris Hernandez Jr., as well as nephews, nieces, and many cousins and friends he loved dearly.

Mark will forever reside in our hearts. We love you dad.

A Celebration of Life for Mark will be held in the near future and we will notify all friends and family.
