Mark Norberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 27, 2025.
Mark "Marc" Norberg, a gifted photographer and artist, passed away on September 22, 2025, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was born on June 20, 1954, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Marc graduated from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls and pursued his passion for the arts through studies at the University of South Dakota and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. His education laid the foundation for a remarkable career behind the lens.

As a professional photographer, Marc was widely recognized for his mastery of light and composition. His acclaimed portfolio, included *Black and White Blues*, featuring portraits of renowned blues artists. It was published by Graphis Press in New York. His evocative images captured the soul of his subjects and earned him exhibitions in galleries and museums across the United States. His final show, *On the Inside Looking Out*, was held at Ice Box Framing in Minneapolis, Minnesota-a fitting culmination to a life dedicated to visual storytelling.

Marc is remembered with love by his sister Sandra (Norberg) Watson and her husband James Watson; his niece Jessica (Watson) Kjenstad; and his sister Ingrid Norberg. He was preceded in death by his mother Guna (Norberg) Watson, father Don Norberg, and sister Ilse (Norberg) Hoehl.

A private service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, where Dar Berkenpas will minister to the family. A Celebration of Life is planned at The Dakota in Minneapolis to honor Marc's enduring spirit and artistic legacy.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and inspiration to all who encountered his work.
