Mary Cimino Alexander of the Providence section of Scranton died Wednesday at Allied Skilled Nursing Center following an illness. She was the widow of Bruno Alexander.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Cardamone Cimino, she was educated in Scranton schools. Before retirement, she was the assistant manager of the Hotel Jermyn of Scranton. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Scranton. Mary was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan. A loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Fourth Floor South at Allied Skilled Nursing Center for the great care given to Mary.

Surviving are a son, Richard and wife, Gloria, Kissimmee, Fla.; a daughter, Dorothy and husband, Vito Gentile, Scranton; four grandchildren, Richard Alexander Jr., Mary Ann Magalee, Blake Gentile and Vito Gentile Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Corey and Brandon Gentile; two sisters, Victoria Stancheski, Toms River, N.J.; and Connie Vallanti, Las Vegas; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dominic, Anthony and James Cimino; and two sisters, Angelina Helmstaedter and Theresa Szcarski.

The funeral will Saturday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Wood Street. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
