Mark was predeceased by his mother, Virginia A. Slaughter; maternal grandparents, Forrest and Isabelle Hilsheimer; paternal grandparents, Charles and Clara Slaughter; and his in-laws, Calvin and Viola Cockrell.
Mark was a graduate of Huntington High School, Class of 1972. He was the owner and operator of Slaughter Construction Co. before retiring in 2009.
