Mark Stahl Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2025.
Mark Ryan Stahl, loving husband, father, grandfather, son and friend, passed away on March 3rd, 2025, at 66 years old in New Palestine, Indiana, surrounded by family.

Born on July 3rd, 1958, in Lebanon, Indiana, son to Linda and Bill Stahl. Mark graduated from Sheridan High School in 1976 before earning his bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University in 1980. At this time, he began dating and married his one and only sweetheart, Cindy, in 1980. In their 44 years of marriage, they went on to share three children and four grandchildren.

Mark dedicated 36 years of his career to Indianapolis Power & Light (AES). He also owned and operated the iconic Ice House restaurant and bar from 2014-2017, and was a dedicated member of the Delta Chi Fraternity IU alumni board.

Mark was known for his humor, generosity, storytelling, and never doing anything halfway. He deeply cherished and cared for his family.

He is survived in life by his wife, Cindy; his three children, Ryan (Allie), Carina, and Brandon; beloved grandchildren Emma, Scarlett, Isaac, and Hazel; parents, Linda and Bill (Millie); and his brother Gary (Linda).

A celebration of life will be held on April 12 at 2 pm at the Four Winds Lakeside Inn in Bloomington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation: https://tinyurl.com/5n82ns74 .

You will be missed by those near and dear. I'm so grateful to you and Cindy for being the source of one of my favorite humans who cares more about people than anyone I know. It's been sweet getting to know you over the years on my trips to Indy. I especially loved the baseball burgers you made on a few occasions. And our trip to the vineyard was pretty special too. Thanks for opening your home and your family to me. Hope you know how cherished you are

To my best friend's Dad. I think my favorite memory of you is just going to always have to be Lady Gaga. The fact that you'd be the one to rally the troops to dance and sing and make us all laugh. I'm so grateful you and Cindy started one hell of a family.
