PEKIN - Mark Edward Vogelsang, 51, of 300 Buena Vista, Pekin, died at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at his home.
Mark was born on Feb. 24, 1959, in Pekin to Arthur Sonny and Charlotte (Howard) Vogelsang.
Surviving are his son and daughter, Graham Watson of Pekin and Abby (Wadsworth) Sutherland of Morton. Also, surviving are his three brothers, Greg Vogelsang of Rock Island, Jim Vogelsang of Texas and Joe Vogelsang of Peoria; three sisters, Cherri Colon of Tremont, Vicky Robertson of Nevada and Debbie Koelling of Bartonville; four grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark was a lineman for Sprint/Gallatin River for 10 years, and had been employed at Rohn Manufacturing and Syngenta Seeds.
Mark was a good man, whose goodness radiated from his soul through his twinkling eyes. His wit, humor and charitable, "Here's the shirt off my back," kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services for Mark will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at the Pekin Union Mission, 203 Court St., Pekin. Pastor James West will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fay McDowell to help cover cremation rites.
A Lord's portion will be donated to James Wests Barnabas Ministries for teenagers.
The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co., Pekin/Peoria, is assisting the family with arrangements.
