I recently received a letter from the Mater informing me that my care has been transferred to another specialist. Today I was devastated to learn that I have lost a wonderful friend and doctor, Dr Mark Walsh. I first met Mark in hematology department in 2012. However, Thanks to Mark's knowledge, kindness and and his treatment, he managed to see me into remission.
On hearing of his passing I am now blessed of having to have known him for nearly 8 years and his devotions and constant care to no end. and just for the records only last year I told him he looked like father Christmas with the streaks of white hear in his beard and hair and the sadness in his eyes we parted on one word see you next year which could not happen now that he is in a better place. My sincere condolences goes to his wife and children and extend family may he rest in peace.

To Dr Walsh's family,
I recently recieved a letter from the Mater informing me that my care has been transferred to another specialist. Today I was devastated to learn that I have lost a wonderful friend and doctor, Dr Mark Walsh. I first met Mark in the renal unit at John Hunter in 2016 with a number of medical issues. However, with a collaborative effort from my JHH & Mater medical teams my most immediate care was transferred to Mark at the Mater. Thanks to Mark's knowlede, determination and treatment programme he managed to see me into remission in July 2017. He had maintained regular contact, was imformative and compassionate, and had a great bedside manner.
I will truely miss him even though my visits to the Mater are now six monthly. We have all lost a wonderful man
My sincere condolences to his family and to his team of doctors and nurses at the Mater
Respectfully yours,

To Dr Walsh's family,
Today I received a letter from Calvary mater informing me that my care had been transferred to a different haematologist specialist. After googling the new specialist something made me google My all time favourite doctor! Dr Mark Walsh
I was shocked to learn of his passing.
I first met Mark at John Hunter hospital nearly 2 years ago.
In my darkest hours he became a light of hope, he gave me compassion consideration and the confidence for the for the fight ahead.
I remember one consultation in particular when he told me he was watching me like a hawk. He had an incredible bedside manner that gave me an assurance that it will be okay.
Words cannot express how much I thought of your husband, father, brother and poppy. He is a true loss to humanity.
Respectfully yours,
Scott Cannon

Dear Walsh family,
My deepest condolences go to you all for the sad passing of a great man who had the time and patience for everyone. As a junior registrar many years ago, I remember him as someone who spoke to you with respect and never made you to feel intimidated even though he was a senior consultant then. Rest in peace. God's blessing on your family.
P Soaki.

Dear Terri & kids,
We learned of Mark's passing with great sorrow. We remember our many coffees at Goldberg's and your visit to Montréal a few years ago. We will always remember Mark as a loving, easy going, courageous and optimist guy. We aspire to have the lasting loving marriage he and Terri shared. A special thank you for making me feel welcome and making sure I wasn't too lonely when I studied in NC in 2004-2005. I will forever be grateful for your kindness.
Lots of love from Montréal
