Mark Webster Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2019.
Mark Eric Webster

Groton, CT - Mark Eric Webster, 62, passed away due to complications from lymphoma on January 6, 2019 at home in Groton, CT with his wife, Kim, by his side. He is survived by his wife, Kim (Quinlan) Webster, his two children, Hannah Stachowski (Kenny) of Indiana and Nathan Webster of Kentucky, and his 2 grandchildren, Roman and Rylee.

Mark was born on September 19, 1956 in Ft. Thomas, KY to Charles Webster and Alice (Sprong) Webster. He had a passion for multiple sports and the sciences. He graduated with his Masters in Organic Chemistry at Xavier and started his career as a chemist at Hilton-Davis, later continuing on to Merrell-Dow and P&G. In 2007 he moved to Connecticut to pursue his career with Pfizer. He enjoyed this rewarding career of helping others by being a part of teams developing life improving and life-saving medications.

He loved spending time surrounded by family and friends, sharing stories, and playing games. He played Scrabble and Rook into his last days. Film and music were a large part of his life, collecting an eclectic mix of both over the years.

His humility, faith, and mentorship will forever leave a lasting impact on all those he walked with in life. In character with his loving spirit, he asked that each of us would take a moment to hug a friend or family member in his honor.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor for family and friends on January 27th at the Ft. Thomas Community Center (Mess Hall) from 11am to 3pm.

I worked with Mark at Hilton Davis. We were friends and he loved playing Euchre card game. We played for hours. Mark was a smart, friendly well balanced person. A spirit like Mark will be missed in this world. Steve Hedges. 1980-81 at Hilton Davis1981-current at Procter and Gamble.

My condolences to the Webster family for your loss. I was in the same group as Mark, at work, and because of his vast lab experience, whenever I needed a hard-to-find piece of equipment or material, Mark was the first person I, also experienced, would go too; and sure enough, most times Mark had it or knew where it could be found. In his passing, I will continue to "go to Mark", no longer for rare equipment/materials, but as an example of a person with character, always conducting himself as an approachable gentlemen and true professional, which he embodied, all the years I had the privilege to know him. I will always remember Mark Webster fondly.

My condolences to all of Mark's family and friends. One didn't need to spend a lot of time with Mark to know how great a person he was both inside and out. I hope know he's driving that classic car of his dreams.
