KEESEVILLE — Markia A. Sloan of Keeseville passed away Feb. 7, 2010, after a long illness.

She is survived by her husband, Vince Sloan of Keeseville; sons, Zachary of Keeseville and Tommy of Westport; and daughters Amy of Albany and Kayra of Plattsburgh. Markia is survived by brothers, Gordon P. Costin of Westport, Thomas and Ann Costin of Keeseville, and Jeffrey and Lisa Costin of Keeseville. She is also survived by her sister, Tammy L. Sajer, of Plattsburgh.

Markia was predeceased by her father, Gordon P. Costin, of Plattsburgh; mother, Sandra L. Anson (Sayer) of Westport; brother, Scott Costin of Westport; and a daughter, April May.

Markia enjoyed gardening, painting and was a nature enthusiast from which she found strength and inspiration.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Marvin's Funeral Home, Route 9 in Elizabethtown, N.Y.
