I had the privilege of knowing Marlene as a classmate at St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing. Those three years of training provided opportunity to know Marlene and she brought great humour and empathy to us all as we dealt with the challenges of learning our profession and dealing with residence living. May her laughter continue in heaven...until we meet again. Lynne

So very sorry to hear about your loss. Marlene was a superstar to everyone who had the privelege to know her. I know this loss seem's difficult, and at times impossible to get through. This is the time to have all your friends and family around you, to laugh and cry, and remember all the wonderful times each and everyone of us who had the extreme privelege of knowing Marlene and being touched by her wonderful shining spirit. Karen I know you feel lost right now and everything feels overwhelming, just know that your mom was proud of the woman you have become, and I know that she felt safe during these last few month's knowing that you were always by her side at each and every turn. She got the wonderful honor of allowing you to be her daughter for more than 40 years, and in the end you were the one who received the blessing to be by your mom's side as she took her last breath. You allowed your mom to be able to leave all her pain and suffering behind, knowing you had become the strong, beautiful, ray of sunshine, the daughter any mother would be proud to have. If there is anything I can do, or if you just need someone to listen, call I will be here. Love Staci, Lonnie and Ashton
