RIP Marlene. I am so glad to have known you, from the very first day we met sipping wine on my front porch at 269 and becoming fast friends. You were always so welcoming and funny, and I loved listening to your many stories-from the hilarious ones that made me laugh to the serious ones about spirits and ghosts that made me a true believer. I especially enjoyed hearing the tales about your mom, Edna, and her restaurant.
Your son, Rick, always told me you were a fabulous cook, and I will forever regret not getting to taste your famous sauce and meatballs. I will cherish the memory of our visits, whether we were sharing "cauffee" in your kitchen or sitting on the beautiful enclosed porch that Rick built for you, listening to stories about your life, antics, and family. I´ll never forget the laughter, especially when you´d share one of your "feisty" comments and "no holds barred" opinions, which I always found to be part of your unique charm. You were a special lady, and I will treasure the time we spent together. You will be deeply missed by family and friends, but I find comfort in knowing that you are at peace, reunited with Edna and your cousin Joyce.
Lottsa love, Marlene!
xx/oo Bob
