Marlene Hill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
Marlene R Hill, 92, of Rockland, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in East Falmouth on January 16, 1933, to Manuel and Delores Rapoza, Marlene was one of five children. She was a cherished sister to (late)Randolph and (late)Lorraine, as well as Diane and Ronald. Growing up in a close family, she helped work on the family farm while maintaining her studies in school. A graduate of Lawrence High School in Falmouth, Marlene became active in clubs and school spirit activities. During this time, she met her only true love. Donald Hill and Marlene were married on August 25, 1956.

Marlene's other love and passion was her family. She leaves behind four sons, Stephen Hill, of Plymouth, MA, his former spouse Michelle and their three children, (late)Nicole, Kaitlyn and Daniel; Jeffrey and Mary Hill of Kingston, MA and their three children, Alyssa, Denis and Brian; Donald and Nadine Hill of Abington, MA and their two children Jaclyn and Derek, and Timothy and Kristen Hill, of Kingston, MA and their two children Marissa and Matthew. The extended family also includes eight great grandchildren.

Family was everything to Marlene. Activities were always family first. From weekend trips to Falmouth, sports, maintaining the house and property, school activities, birthdays were all about her children.

Her love did not stop there. Both she and Don opened their home to many children in the area. Their love was shown to all in need. Caring about others is what she did. Deeds ranging from snacks, to advice, to a loving shoulder to cry on optimized the love to everyone she knew.

The Lord was her savior. A devout Catholic, Marlene was a member of the Holy Family Church, Rockland for over 70 years. Never missing Sunday service, she always found ways to attend in her later years from home. Once again, family was paramount. Marlene prayed for her entire extended family daily. Often taking hours of her day, she asked for each member's well-being.

Although she has left this Earth, her presence is still felt today. As time passes by, we learn how many lives Marlene influenced. She continues her work in heaven alongside her Husband Don, granddaughter Nicole and so many other family members.

A Remembrance Mass will be held on Saturday, August 16th, at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland, MA.
