Marlene MATULIC Obituary
1956 - 2013
Passed away on July 21, 2013 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 56. Beloved wife of Vinko and devoted mother of Anthony, Marlene was the daughter of Leonard and Mary Shea. She is also survived by her siblings Debra (Eric), Brenda (Joe), Gail (Ron), Brian (Lynne), Colleen (George) and Joanne (Raymond). After graduating from Concordia University, Marlene worked for Simpsons Travel Agency, retired employee of Delta Airlines and was presently employed with American Express at the time of her illness. The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc 514-685-3344 on Wednesday, July 24 from 6 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Luke Church, 106A Anselme-Lavigne, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

My deepest sympathy I've been in the United States and did not know of her passing Untill now. My heart goes out to the family. I have fond memories with the Shea family growing up in Dollard

I'm very saddened to have learned of Marlene's passing and my deepest condolences I extend to both the Shea and Matulic families . Being out of the country I only learned the news by e- mail from my secretary Julie and I regret not having had the chance to see everyone in person. Marlene was a great lady - a real role model in all aspects of life as exemplified by the courage with which she endured her illness and treatments . May we all learn from her example and remember her in so doing .

To Anthony and Vinko i was so sorry to hear about Marlene.She was always laughing and made everybody feel good.Although I have not seen her since our boys graduated from Greendale I will always remember her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Dear Vinko,

It is always so sad when a vibrant young woman is taken

To Marlene's family, I was so saddened to hear of Marlene's passing. Len told me of the faith, tenacity and courage Marlene showed while facing all health issues. Len told me how Marlene never gave up, and the love and pride he had for her and his family always came through. She is an inspiration for all of us. Our families have a long history, going back even before Len was my algebra teacher, and Joanne was my student. Our deepest condolences go out to Marlene's family and friends.

Marlene was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She was sorely missed at our 40th PCHS reunion in May, I know she was one of the first that wanted to come. My deepest condolences to Vinko and Anthony and all her family. She was one brave and courageous lady, an inspiration to us all.
