Evelyn Tomei Obituary
Evelyn M. Tomei, age 85 of Bedford Village, NY, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on February 27, 2016. Evelyn Tomei was born June 21, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Salvatore and Anna Maria (Garofalo) DiMayo. On June 12, 1954, she married the love of her life, Joseph C. Tomei, in Brooklyn, NY. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and friends immensely. Her personal faith in God was evident in the life she lived. Sharing Jesus' love was her joy.
Along with her husband of 61 years, Evelyn is survived by her three children: Joseph M. Tomei and his wife Lisa Tomei of North Salem, NY; Diane Zarlengo and her husband Gary Zarlengo of Centereach, NY; Carla Bonsignore and her husband Martin Bonsignore of Hawthorne NY; a brother, Anthony DiMayo and her seven grandchildren: Stephanie and her husband Joel, Jaime, Stephen and his wife Anna, Cristie, Joey, Lea, and Matthew, and two great grandchildren: Noel and Evie Joy.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1st from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:30am at Bedford Community Church, 160 Bedford Center Road, Bedford Hills, N.Y. 10507 (914)666-5384. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530. Memorial donations in memory of Evelyn Tomei may be made to The Walter Hoving Home, 40 Walter Hoving Road, Garrison, NY 10524.
