Marshall Sherwood Lutz
Marshall S. Lutz, 73, of Camano Island, entered into rest following a one year battle with pulmonary fibrosis on May 29, 2005, at his home with his loving family at his side.
Windy was born to Vernor Godfrey Christian and Jean Nadine (Dingman) Lutz on February 8, 1932, in Detroit Michigan. Windy served his country faithfully with the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949, then entered into military service again in 1950, serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Windy was stationed at Warrington Air Force Base in Great Britain, where he met the love of his life, Alma, in 1953. Windy left active military service in 1954, serving in the Air Force Reserve until 1961. Windy and Alma were married in Dearborn,Michigan, on May 7, 1955. Windy had a number of hobbies: flying airplanes as a member of both the Liverpool Flying Club, and the Burtonwood Flying Association, hunting, fishing and camping, to name a few. Windy was a member of the American Legion Post 0110, of Lacey, Washington, attending Post 92 in Stanwood. Windy worked as a hydraulic engineer, for a time, self-employed, in his own company, Lutz Engineering, based out of Chicago. He completed his career in engineering, as the North American General Sales Manager for Gearmatic, Braden, Carco Hydraulic Winches, owned by PACCAR.
Windy is survived by his loving wife, and partner of 50 years, Alma Josephine (Agnew) Lutz, of Camano Island; loving children, Lea Kloster and her husband, Bill, of St. Charles Illinois, Craig Lutz, and his wife, Darcy, of Arlington, Leslie Lutz, of Addison Illinois; four grandchildren, Bill Kloster, Rachael Lutz, Katie Kloster, Emma Lutz; and special companion, his dog, "Inky." Windy is also survived by his brothers, Burton, Sheldon and Terrance Lutz, all of Fort Pierce, Florida; and numerous relatives in the state of Michigan.
A Celebration of Windy's Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials can be made in Windy's name to Skagit Hospice, in recognition of their kind and compassionate care, or your local chapter of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association.
The family also wishes to express their thanks to Joy Finley, president of American Legion, Post 92, Stanwood.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial and Cremation Services, LLC of Mount Vernon, Washington.

Dear Jo,
I'll miss my cuz Marshall a lot. In the recent past, when we met for lunch at that seaside restaurant, we had such good laughs. When I get back to Seattle we'll do it again.

Dad,
Today it is 2 weeks, and everything
still so fresh in my mind. I think of the things you said to me Tuesday thru Friday about mom holding neighbor's hostage at the front door (poor Bruce thought he was locked in) LOL, and So Anyway So....makes me laugh everytime I hear it and I think of you. Hope you and Uncle Chick have become Heaven Sky Pilots together. You are in my thoughts every moment.

Dad,
Even though you are not here for us to see and hug, we know that you are with us always, watching over us and being our Guardian Angel. I miss you so much! You were a great Father who loved us and gave us everything we wanted without spoiling us and taught us to be good, honest and to do the right thing. You provided everything for us including the perfect Mom. I will cherish all the vacations in the Holiday Rambler to Florida, Grand Canyon, Canada, Yosemite National Park, San Diego and London. The camping trips were always a blast and it was fun checking the plumbing facilities across the country! As an adult, now I know that the things you did and said were because you loved me and because you wanted me to succeed. I don't let anyone take advantage of me and I fight for myself and what is right. I feel proud to say, "My Daddy didn't raise a fool". Even though you are gone, I will never forget the great childhood memories and the love I have for you, I couldn't have asked for a better Dad. I hope I can be half the role model to my daughter as you were to me! I'll miss you Daddy!
Love and kisses!

I have so many great memories of my cuz Marsh. I could start with the times my brother Don and I had with the Lutz foresome at our house for Thanksgivings. Chasing girls at Grand Beach, Mich. There was the time in England, flying with Marsh when he said that's where my future wife lives. Where? He tipped the plane on it's wing and circled Jo's house. He will be sorely missed.

Jo, Craig,Lea & Leslie,
We are so sorry for your loss. We will miss Marsh very much. We are sitting here remembering all the fun times we had. Our Children will always remember our trips to Florida, especially the time Shawn had to have a hat just like Uncle Marsh. I think that was the same trip that Shawn spent so much time calling your room from the house phone at the Polynesian.
All our love.

Uncle Marsh:
I will miss you always. Thank you for all the good times we all had together. You were always so much fun. Thanks for all the donuts and driving us girls all over Chicago when we visited as teens. Until we meet again, I will think of you often. Enjoy your time with Grandma and Grandpa and all your other family members!
Aunt Jo, Lea, Leslie and Craig, I pray that God will comfort you and your families in this time of sorrow!
Love,
Michelle

My Good Buddy Marsh will be missed and never forgotten. Marsh told me that he was going to have "The Maker" plant some fish for us to catch up there. I told him that was fine as long as I didn't have to go too soon. Marsh replied "No I'll just be there waiting for you." What a comforting thought.
Our love and prayers go to Jo and her family.
