Martha A. Forsythe

FORSYTHE – Martha A., 93, 421 Lang Ave., Patton, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Golden Living Center-HAIDA. Martha was born Aug. 23, 1915, in Allport, Pa., daughter of the late Stephen and Ann (Bernardo) Pandola. She married Charles E. Forsythe, who preceded her in death. Martha is survived by two daughters, Sandra Gooderham of Pittsburgh and Linda A. Gregg, and husband, James, of Hastings; and one son, Ronald J. Forsythe, and wife, Nancy A., of Bellefonte. Martha also is survived by five grandchildren, Jeffrey Gooderham, Leslie Zovko, Byron Forsythe, Cynthia Forsythe and Brian Barckley; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Inez Forsythe of Patton; and niece, Thomasina Cacchione. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Barletta, and brothers, Joseph and Peter Pandola. Martha was a graduate of Patton High School and retired as an inspector for the Van Heusen Factory in 1977. She was a member of the Patton Senior Citizens and enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and playing cards. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 Fifth Ave., Patton, Pa. 16668. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, by the Benedictine Fathers. Committal at Fairview Cemetery, Patton.
