Martha Ann Worthington Harris, 86, of Solebury Township died Friday, November 9, 2018 at Christ’s Home in Warminster, PA.
Born in 1932 in Trenton, NJ, Martha grew up in New Hope and graduated from Penn State University in 1954. She and her family lived in State College, PA and Media, PA for a number of years before she and her husband returned to Solebury in 1983 to care for her elderly mother. She was a member of the Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church and volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels, serving the New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ areas. Martha was an active member of the Needlework Guild of America and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Solebury Township Historical Society and a supporter of the New Hope Free Library.
Daughter of the late Alvin B. Worthington and Ruth Stonaker Worthington, she is survived by her husband Donald E. Harris, one son John W. Harris, one daughter Cristina Bergman, two granddaughters Rebecca and Emily Harris, and three cousins Lynn Mladineo, Janice Slack, and Joyce Homan.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St., Lambertville, NJ. Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Eagle Fire Company, 46 Sugan Rd., New Hope, PA 18938.
