To the family of Martha,
Martha and I were friends over the years as we grew up. Her parents were acquainted with my uncle who had a farm outside of Dubuque, so I first met her there. Our high school years brought us together again, hanging out with the same group of girls. We had a lot of fun and I have so many wonderful memories of our times together. I have thought about her so often over the years after school, wondering where her life was taking her. I was sad to see the notice of her death, but also happy that she was able to spend time in her later years close to her family. Her picture shows the smile I always remembered.

With Sympathy,
Ann McLaughlin, formerly McFadden
