Martha Neiman

NEIMAN, Martha (nee Sommer) May 20, 1913 ~ November 23, 2008 Martha Neiman of Edmonton passed away quietly on November 23, 2008 at the age of 95 years. She will be remembered by her son Dennis (Audrey) of Leduc, daughters Joy (Bob) Oswald of Surrey, BC and Gloria (Don) Knopp of Lacombe. She will be greatly missed by her 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her sister Elsie Sheetz of Thorsby and brothers Herman and Otto Sommer of Barrhead. Martha grew up on a farm west of Leduc; she led an active life and enjoyed being outdoors. Her favorite pastimes were lawn bowling and playing games with her grandchildren. She was also a keen Oilers fan. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur, in 1996. The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the caregivers at the Good Samaritan Society Southgate and to Chaplains Reverend Ed Chell and Virginia Hink for their kindness. In keeping with Martha's requests, there will be a private family memorial. Donations in her memory may be made to the Good Samaritan Society or Arthritis Society of Canada.
