Martha Louse Armijo Swink

Martha Louse Armijo Swink, 91, a longtime resident of Albuquerque NM, died peacefully Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Texas. She is survived by her son Marvin II and his wife Christine of Texas City, Texas; her daughter, Michele Donah and her husband Mike of Phoenix AZ; and grandsons Marc and Mackenzie Donnell, Donald Comstock, Derek and Jason Donah and 8 great grandkids. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin.

Martha was born July 18, 1931 and grew up in Albuquerque with her younger sisters (Priscilla

Palmisano, Charlene

Knipfing and Joni Barabe) and her father and mother, Manual and Lupe Armijo. Martha attended St. Vincent Academy and then went off to Washington DC, where she worked briefly with the FBI. Following that successful job, Martha returned to Albuquerque, where she met and fell in love with a handsome Air Force Navigator, Marvin. They were married October 6, 1956 and experienced a joyous marriage until the passing of Marvin in May 2022.

Martha and Marvin settled down in Albuquerque and Martha started to raise their two children (Marvin II and Michele). She also started to work on multiple charity organizations and when the kids finally left the house, Martha and Marvin moved to Dallas where Marvin took a job with

ARCO. This job took them to not only Texas; but to Los Angeles, California and eventually to Anchorage, Alaska. While in Alaska, Martha got back into charity work and founded the Breast Cancer Focus Group. Significant cancer awareness and money was raised because of her efforts. When Marvin retired in 2006, both of them moved to Marana, AZ for a peaceful and well-deserved retirement. When Marvin passed in May 2022, Martha moved in with her son and daughter-n-law and on December 22, 2022, Martha passed away in her sleep. Martha and Marvin will both be entombed in Albuquerque, NM at a later.

Martha was an amazing woman. I grew up two doors down from Martha, Marvin, Marvin II, and Michele, in Albuquerque, on San Pedro. I have nothing but fond memories of Martha, and her family. My family got together all the time for cookouts and playtime. My sincerest condolences to you Marvin and Michele.

Martha was my GodMother and attended St. Vincent Academy with my Mother- Adelaide Smith Smatana.
I remember many visits with my Mom and Martha.
She was ALWAYS so "put together " and Beautiful.
Mom passed in 1985 and it has been decades since I saw Martha but remember her so vividly.
Lifting her Family in thought and prayer,
God Bless and keep you sweet Martha...
