Martin Braun Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin Joseph Braun, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who left us peacefully on September 14, 2025, at St Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton, California. He was born on January 20, 1943, in Kintyre, North Dakota, to Mike and Elizabeth Braun, the seventh of twelve children. They instilled in him the values of hard work and determination that would define his life.

Martin, affectionately known as "Marty" to his friends and family, was a dedicated family man, married to the love of his life, Margaret, for an incredible 62 years. Together, they celebrated their union on August 3, 1963, forming a partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. His commitment to his family was evident in everything he did, and he took great pride in being a father to his children Ronald Braun, Richard Braun and Lisa George-Braun; a loving grandfather to his grandchildren Melissa Corbett, Giancarlos Delgado-Braun, Christopher Silva, Brother Bernard "Nicolas" Delgado-Braun, and Dylan Braun; and a loving great grandfather to his great grandchildren, Cillian and Kacie Corbett. He cherished every moment spent with his family, always eager to share stories and lessons from his life.

A proud graduate of Lodi High School, Martin devoted his life to the craft of carpentry, becoming a lifelong carpenter and handyman. There was nothing he could not fix or build, and his skills were a source of pride for him and a blessing to many who knew him. His work ethic was unmatched; he was often described as an extremely hard worker and an "Energizer bunny," tirelessly dedicated to his craft and family.

Martin was a man of many interests, with a particular passion for sports. He was a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Sacramento Kings, and he loved sharing his enthusiasm for these teams with his family and friends. Whether cheering for his favorite players or engaging in spirited discussions about the games, his love for sports was a joyful part of his personality.

His bright spirit and hardworking nature will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald, whose absence continues to be felt deeply by the family.

Martin leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and craftsmanship. He is survived by his cherished wife Margaret, son Richard, daughter Lisa, and his grandchildren Melissa, Giancarlos, Christopher, Nicolas, and Dylan. His great-grandchildren Cillian and Kacie will carry forward the stories of their great-grandfather and the values he held dear.

As we say goodbye to Martin, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life filled with love, laughter, and the spirit of hard work. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Martin; your legacy will continue to inspire all of us.

There will be a Catholic funeral vigil followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7 PM on Wednesday September 24 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto, 1813 Oakdale Rd. Then, there will be a Catholic funeral mass followed by a celebration of his life at St Anne's, 215 W Walnut St, Lodi, at 9:30 am on Thursday, September 25.
