I recently talked to a former co-worker about Martin. He still makes us laugh when we think of him. He was a real character. Happy Holidays. -Mike

I worked with Doc many years ago a considered him a true friend. From reading so many great tributes here, I think that´s the only kind he made. I´ll remember his jovial sense of humor, his keen intelligence and his zest for life. We hadn´t spoken in several years, but I know I´ll truly miss him.

Martin was a friend and co-worker of mine. He had one of the quickest wits and was great fun to be around. I still laugh when I think of about him and his great sense of humor. RIP brother.

I´m just heartbroken, as is our entire Dardis family. Doc was like a brother to me and my siblings, and like a son to my parents. And he embraced and loved us likewise, as he did all those he received into his heart. What a pure, big, marvelous heart he had - expanding to take in not just all of us, but to inhale the entire world.
We enjoyed a magical evening together just a few weeks ago, as he and I celebrated our 60th birthdays in the warm glow of friends and family. He was as resilient as ever, full of resolve to explore further, to squeeze the most out of life. Though the life ahead of him has been taken away, the life he lived was truly lived that way.
Thank you, Martin, for gracing our lives. You´ll be forever missed, and forever in our hearts.

I had the privilege of sharing a weekend this past August with Martin at our home in Virginia. Though I had seen him a few times in past years, this was truly a very special weekend that will forever be cherished!

Martin showed up for everyone. If there was any kind of Mannheim gathering, he was there. I feel fortunate to have been his friend for 40+ years. That is what I will hang onto for now. I´ve got nothing but love for Doc.

I had the pleasure of working with Doc at the senate. Doc was awesome to work with, he made work fun and less like work. Always with a joke or a good ribbing. I’ll miss you brother.

MARTIN and I were working for competing networks while covering the Romney campaign in 2012. All I could say is, I can never have a better wingman. He took his work seriously but he also kept a very open- minded perspective on life and how it should be enjoyed. Neil

I can only imagine all your beloved doggos *running* to meet you on the other side!! And, your smiling face when you see them all. Your love for food and your dogs is surpassed only by your love for your friends. We will miss you terribly.

With much love brother! Imagine you are on that chopper heading to the Pearly Gates. St Peter is going to make you leave it outside though...keep the motor running though! Will miss you terribly. Know once you get there you'll see Reece...and the rest of our ancestors. Love you forever and will see you again one day in eternity!
