I saw a name that was similar to Giglio and that reminded me of Marty. So I went online and was shocked to learn that Marty passed away some time ago. I knew Marty from his days at Dravo Corporation where I also worked. Marty was always the perfect gentleman with a pleasant personality and great smile. A top notch person. Rest in peace Marty. My condolences to his wife and family.

I was so sad to hear the news that Marty was gone. He and I worked together at HBM/Creamer. I always thought he would have made a good James Bond: cool under pressure, wry sense of humor, smart, quick thinker, and looked good in a tux. (I think that idea would have made him laugh.) My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I had the great fortune of being under Marty's watch in the 90's at The St. George Group advertising agency. He gave a young, arrogant writer a remarkable shot at doing more for the company--and went to bat for me in his perpetually calm, wry and dry-witted manor.

He opened doors for me then I had no idea were being opened, and he handled his business with grace, intelligence, and an ever-present twinkle in his eye that warned you there was a joke to be had at your expense if you weren't careful.

That such people existed in my life as a part of my formative years amazes me to this day. To his family I say this--Marty left a mark on those who knew him; and it was a warm, lasting impression that taught good lessons about taking your craft seriously while taking yourself seriously....a little less so.

I wish you peace and fond memories in this time of grief, for he affected those in his present (and past) circle of life greatly, and positively.

If that isn't the true measure of a man, I don't know what is.

Sending blessings to you all. Marty and I worked together at HBM Creamer many years ago. He ever offered kindness, integrity, patience and tolerance towards his colleagues and clients, setting an inspired example for the young person I was at that time. I celebrate his life and all that he gave while here, and wish peace for your hearts in this time of great change.

I've worked with Marty over the last 12 years at Buck Consultants. He was always such a gentleman and a true professional. I will miss him. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.

It's not often that you encounter uncommonly gracious and gifted people twice in your career, years apart and under completely different circumstances. Walking past the One Oliver Plaza bldg. always brings back memories of how exciting it was as part of Dravo's Corp Comms team to see the outstanding work being done by high-performance colleagues like Marty G. Exchanging hellos with Marty years later in the BNY Mellon cafeteria never failed to renew my regard for Marty as a comms leader with Buck Consultants. My sincerest sympathies to Paula, Harry and the rest of Marty's family. Untimely dimming of such a bright star will make the communications night sky over Pittsburgh a little darker for all of us lucky enough to have known Marty.
