It was so so sad to hear of Martin's passing.
I first met Martin when he was a student assigned to work with me at the Delta Engine Plant in Lansing Michigan on the Quad Four Engine Project in the mid 1980's. More than just coworkers we developed a friendship that lasted throughout our careers at GM. Martin was an engineers "engineer". Always striving to find the best technical solution to solve the problem at hand. But more importantly, Martin was a shining example of a good family man. Wherever his travels took him he always looked forward in anticipation to going home to Sheila and their children. They were always his number one priority. The last time I saw Martin he was attending a safety conference in Jacksonville, Florida in 2019. He drove two hours just to visit us for dinner, catch up on old times, and see how we were doing in retirement. It was great to see him again. The night grew late but Martin drove back to Jacksonville to attend the conference in the morning all the while looking forward to getting back home to his family. That was typical Martin for you! We miss him.
Rest in Peace old friend.

I was very sadden to hear of Martin's passing. I worked with him when I transitioned back to Powertrain about 14 years ago. He and I hit it off and would talk about the woes of work and solve the worlds problems. He was always will to spend some time helping others through whatever was bothering you. Most of the time he had a picture to go with the solution - which included many kinds of foods from around the world. His easy going and positive attitude will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with the Nagel family as they try to adjust. Rest in peace Martin.

I worked with Martin in Pontiac for man years. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, his family, his friends and his family. I remember how he would "adopt" people he worked with from other countries and show off Michigan. We all remember his pictures of food from other countries! He will be missed by all. My sincerest condolences

I am very sorry for your loss. My wife and I just heard the news and are saddened and shocked. While working at General Motors over the years, he was one of the Engineers I could rely on to offer solid and well thought out advice on all manner of Engineering and Safety issues. He will be greatly missed is an understatement.
