He was who I called Pops. My Dad had levity but was very serious when it came to opinion and thoughts of what is right and wrong. I could always go to him for help with difficult decisions. He was a cool father. ....Jeffo

Marty and I had a player and coach at Aurora College. Our relationship lasted well after that and I for one am grateful. He was a great mentor and friend. I will miss him.

Marty was my favorite teacher. To this day, I owe my ability to read a map to Mr. Olson! I´m sorry for your loss. I´m sure he will be greatly missed.

I taught with Marty at Freeman. He was always in the hall during passing times. I have fun memories of that time.
My prayers go out to his entire family, especially Char. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand.

We just got back in town. Always fun to chat with. I use to stop by Covellis before school to see Marty.

Both of my children had Marty for sixth grade. When he retired, I joined the sixth grade team and inherited his wonderful desk. I am blessed to have so many wonderful memories of Marty.

So sorry to hear my old teacher and mentor has passed on. As a young troublemaker going to Freeman Mr. Olson had a major role in teaching me how important my studies were and how to work to raise my grades. Later in life Marty and I would see each other around town and soon became good friends. Being from Aurora we knew a lot of the same people and loved telling old war stories of our younger days. What a great man and special life he had. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
