Dr. Robson is the reason I became a plastic surgeon. Was heading down the path of ortho. I was a 4th year student on his service at Wayne State. He handed me an application and said fill this out. And from then on was a mentor to me help me in my plastic surgery training and career.

We were so sorry to hear about Dr. Robson's passing. He was such a great pioneer of burn surgery and will truly be missed. Dr. Robson was the lynchpin in helping our organization, Sons of the Flag, develop our "Mission: Reconstruct Freedom" program in Tampa, Florida. He was a wonderful friend to our nonprofit organization to help burn survivors, and the Robson Family Foundation helped to fund our organization. We are forever grateful to Dr. Robson and his family and will miss him dearly! Love to all, Sherry Whidby, President & CEO, Sons of the Flag.

Marty was the Chair of my training program at the University of Chicago and primary mentor in Plastic Surgery. He inspired me to always look for data to justify my approach to any scientific or clinical problem, and to try and generate data where none existed. As I progressed through my Plastic Surgery career, he was one of my best friends and greatest supporters. Almost like a parent, I knew he always had my back. I will forever be grateful for what he did for me, and will miss him.

Marty was a mentor and a friend from the time I met him as a medical student at Yale when he became Tom Krizek's first resident. Out paths crossed many time after that, and I owe much of my career to his guidance.

I was in Marty´s class in medical school but because of the tyranny of the alphabet shared no rotations with him. I do however remember playing basketball with him on the outdoor court near the medical dormitory. It´s funny what sticks with you over time and he was a fierce competitor who you much wanted as a teammate rather than as an opponent. Although I have not thought of him in more than 55 years, I am not surprised that he had such a distinguished career because I am sure he pursued his work I´n medicine with the enthusiasm he demonstrated on the outdoor concrete court in Baltimore all those years ago.

Marty and I were residents of Abbot Hall at Northwestern University in 1957 and 1958, and then faternity brothers at Phi Delta Theta there. Despite being of similar ages Marty had a much clearer view of career, and was a great help orienting me toward, and helping me find a place at Northwestern's Medical School. At a distance I professionally, I was able to watch his exceptional career. My condolences to his wife and accomplished.

Dr Robson was the singular person responsible for my choosing a career in plastic surgery. As a 3rd year Medical student at Wayne State in 1984, his plastic surgery lectures to students on the Surgery rotation inspired me. They were fascinating and engaging. A true teacher .
I have had a very rewarding 29 year career ( and counting) in plastic surgery thanks to him. I continue to strive to follow his example by always pushing myself to learn more every day. So many of us owe him a debt of gratitude.

Dr Robson was the single person responsible for my pursuing a career in plastic surgery. His lectures during my 3rd year medical student surgery rotation at Wayne State in 1984 were inspirational and fascinating.. I followed him to Galveston for training in PS after General Surgery . I have had a very satisfying 29 year career( and still going). He was very supportive throughout. I thank him.

Dr. Robson was a mentor to many surgeons. Important to me as a PA on his service, he was also a mentor to me. I have learned all I know about research, treating chronic wounds, and plastic surgery from him. He even trained me to become a teacher. I will never forget Dr. Robson, and I will always miss him.
