Kathy,
Donald and I are very sorry to hear of Marty's passing. I attended the beautiful service at St. Basil's with my sister, whom Marty knew through work. We will miss seeing you both walking together with Buddy. Coffee is always waiting just down the road if you should find yourself wanting to talk.

Hi Kathy, I was shocked and deeply saddened when I read of Marty's passing. Honestly, I'm not sure how I initially met Marty but we both worked at STC and we would bump into each other in the hallways and chat for a few minutes. Marty was special and will be GREATLY missed. I felt the need to attend the funeral (with my sister Lorraine who lives on your street) and it was beautiful. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Kathy, Michael & Peter
It has been many years since Marty and all the other boys played pick up hockey at the old Lorraine St. outdoor hockey rink in Sudbury. Despite the cold of the afternoon or night there was always Marty's laughter to warm and cheer us on. He was always kind hearted, considerate and fun to be with. These qualities only improved when he became a husband and father. We will all miss him dearly.

Marty's family and friends
I was shocked when I heard of Marty's passing and I am still in shock. I have worked closely with Marty for over 10 years. All I can say is that he was the BEST. When there was a challenge at work Marty would say"I can fix that", give a little smile, roll up his sleeves and get it done. I will miss you Marty. I know you touched many many people and you will always be remembered.

Dear Kathy, Michael,Peter and family,
We were shocked to hear about Marty's death. We go way back to the Carlingwood Frank Ryan days when Marty coached and Michael played baseball with my son. Marty was always a lot of fun and loved his sports. One thing that was obvious was his love and affection for family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Marty and family,
Thank you for allowing me to a part of your day from time to time at the "Y". You are ( I was going to write "were" but it just didn't seem right) a breath of fresh air. Your are a smile that never quits. I and everyone else that shares the "gym" at the "Y" with you will continue to feel that freshness and warmth of character for a long time to come. May I wish you even more Love, Peace and Strength than you've already shared together.

Dear Kathy, Michael and Peter and family,
About 10 years ago, your husband/dad was my mentor as part of an internal recruitment program at Statistics Canada. I chose him from a long list of names because of his impressive reputation in the agency.
He was an excellent listener and conversationalist who shared a lot of valuable wisdom that helped me advance in my career.
I will remember him as an intelligent, kind, humourous and personable man. I feel honoured to have known him.
I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Vallee Family,
Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. What a shock! I knew Marty through hockey in Ottawa West and our paths would cross many times through out the year whether it was at Barbara-Anne or in the neighbourhood when he was out often walking his dog. Marty would always come over to say hello and share a story and a laugh. There was always an instant connection whereby he made you feel like you were old friends. He will be missed by all.

Dear Kathy, many years have gone by since we last spoke. Having worked at Bell Canada for 30 years I met a lot of people, some you remember, some you forget. You are one person that is not easily forgotten. I still have very found memories of our SR days. No words can express how we feel at times like this. You must be so proud of Marty. After reading the guest book it is obvious that he was a loving person. In all your sadness just remember you were the chosen one who was able to share the short life that he had on this earth. God bless you and your family during these hard times.

Kathy, Michael and Peter,
My heart goes out to all of you. For many of us who worked with him, Marty brightened our days at the BA Banknote - he was such a pleasure to have and be around. He was more than a colleague, he was a good friend to so many of us. I had not kept in touch personally but would always get news of him and you from mutual friends. Life has taken us in different directions and miles separate us but I carry the memory of Marty with me. I hope you find comfort in the days ahead.

Dear Kathy, Mike and Peter;
I, like many of Marty's friends at the Y, were deeply saddened to hear that he had suddenly passed away. Marty generously and effortlessly spread good cheer to everyone each time he entered the facility, which was always accompanied by his warm smile and subtle humour.
He often spoke to me of Kathy and his boys, and how much he admired his family and enjoyed attending his sons' hockey games and tournaments. I could count on Marty to ask me whether I'd seen Lafleur today, or why there was never enough weights in the gym for his workout, or whether I needed a lift home.
I will miss Marty and never forget his friendship. I will be thinking of each of you every time I pass by your house as I make my way home each night from the Y. God bless.
Sincerely,
Peter

To Marty's family,
My most sincere condolences on your loss. I worked with Marty at Stats Can as administrative assistant from 2003 to 2005. I appreciated so much working with him…we had made a perfect deal, I would correct his French writing and he would correct my English writing. But I got more than the deal said; mistakes were aloud. Like a pro, he was catching them with a smile saying it was part of his job! Life won’t stop just for that he was telling me, all we have to do is take the action to correct it. The deal also included a gentlemen supervisor who never complained during my bad days as I was going through a difficult personal situation. Working beside him for only two years and I feel a great loss today, I can only try to imagine what his loss represents to you.

Dear, Dear Kathy
Ed and I are so very sorry to hear about Marty. We regret we cannot be there with you and the boys. Peter and Michael, I'm sure, have heard many stories about the wonderful person that was their father. Ed and I would have been able to add a few more from long ago when their dad was the age they are now. One cannot hear Marty's name without a smile coming to their face. That is how we will forever remember him, a great guy we are proud to have had the opportunity to call friend. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tu vas me manquer, Martin.

To all of Marty's family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Marty's passing. He was a good friend and a very proud husband and father. He had two main topics of conversation - his family and sports. He parked at my house during the day so we spoke often (and quickly) because he was usually rushing off to a family obligation or a sports event with one of his boys or a group of friends and couldn't wait to get there. I laughed at the stories of his marathon baseball trips to the States with his buddies - he was as excited as a little kid. I will miss seeing him and hearing about his latest escapade. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I hope your memories of the happy times will help to ease your sorrow.

To Kathy and Marty's Beloved Boys,
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
It is with great sorrow that I learned the news of Marty's passing. For a short time I considered him "boss" and for many years I have known him as "friend". Though our computer training group disbanded some time ago, Marty always joined us for the occassional group lunch -- where he was usually late. He was a master story-teller who always brought a smile and a chuckle. I'll miss him dearly.
Thanks for the pond rocks, Marty.

I knew Marty from Members Plus at the YMCA. Once he discoverd I was from Sudbury he thereafter always struck up a conversation with me. Even before we had ever talked I noticed how well liked he was by all his long-time frineds at the Y. He was always laughing and had a way of making everyone comforatable and relaxed and made new members feel at home. Our last conversation was about how much he enjoyed his Christmas holidays. As well, he was always talking about his great wife and children.
Everyone upon hearing the news of his passing was greatly shocked. He will be sadly missed by myself as well as all the regulars at the Y.
