Marva Flowers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 17 to Mar. 18, 2022.
Our Mother, Marva Jean Ferrell Flowers, 88, was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, March 14, 2022.

She was born in North Carolina, settling on the Peninsula as a young child and remaining the rest of her life.

Mom was a devoted wife and mother who put the concern of others before her own. She tirelessly instilled lifelong lessons into the lives of her children who otherwise, would not be the people they are today.

Marva was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Faye Ferrell, husband, Rodney Paige Flowers, and their son, Rodney B. Flowers. She is survived by her children, Pamela McReynolds, Michael Flowers, Rick Flowers, Lynn, and Mark Bailey; grandchildren, James R. McReynolds, Melissa and Sean Clark, Chrissi and Ryan Scherer; and great-grandchildren, Lena and Orin Scherer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 at Peninsula Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Hilton Baptist Church, 101 Main Street, Newport News, VA 23601, or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Virginia 23601.
