Marvin Gellert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 13, 2024.
Marvin Roy Gellert, 90, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Milwaukee, Marvin was the devoted husband of Yvonne Gellert and the cherished father of Gary Gellert (and his wife, Kris) and Kim Gellert. He was preceded in death by his son, David Gellert.

Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Military, where he dedicated himself to the service of others with honor and pride. His commitment to both his country and his family was a hallmark of his life.

Marvin leaves behind a loving legacy, including his grandchildren: Daniel Gellert (and his wife, Megan), Nicole Page (and her husband, Benjamin), Frederick Gellert, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom he deeply adored.

At this time, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Marvin's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or the Milwaukee VA Healthcare Volunteer & Donation Program (https://www.va.gov/milwaukee-health-care/work-with-us/volunteer-or-donate/).

The family is grateful for the love and support they have received during this difficult time, and Marvin will forever be remembered with deep affection.

I met the Gellerts at age fourteen. Through my new best friend for life, David Gellert.
David's parents have always been like second family to me.
Marvin was a good husband, father and friend. I'll miss you Pa Gellert

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, kim, Gary and Mrs Gellert. MY Childhood was filled with memories of Kim's Dad (Marvin) and Mom, as Kim and I were best friends from 5 years of age to current. I remember him always working on cars at Jerry's the neighborhood auto Gargage. My thoughts and condolences are with you. Love Patti And Jim Chrzanowski.
