Marvin Peterson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 24, 2024.
Marvin "Marv" Kenneth Peterson was born to Henry and Bernice Peterson, and one brother Larry, four years his senior. The family made their home in North Seattle, and Marv graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1965.

After high school, Marv joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where he developed a strong love for his country and the sea while on active duty from 1965-1970.

Marv and Anne married in 1970, and Marv started construction work on BART in California. They moved back to Seattle in 1971, and were blessed with Lisa Mary in 1972, Laif Kenneth in 1975, and six grandchildren.

They lived on North Capitol Hill and Lake City in Seattle. Marv and Anne moved to Allyn on the peninsula in 2014, where Marv has been involved in the Lakeland community.

Through the years, they have enjoyed Lake Chelan, frequent boating, and taking more than 36 cruises.

Marv learned a new way to live through Alcoholics Anonymous, attaining 36 grateful years sober.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to Visiting Nurse Association at www.vnatoday.org.

When I met the man who would become my husband of 50 plus years, I did not know part of the package was Marv. Marv almost seemed relieved to have his childhood pal less clingy. Marv sure smiled a lot, loved his jokes, especially the adventures shared with Anne. Hockey and Goliath, don´t even go there. Family, nothing more precious. Thank you, Marv, for sharing your amazing spirit.

Marv was my cousin but more than that he was like a brother and true friend. I loved this guy! We shared a lot of good times over the years. I miss him, but he told me he would see me on the other side. What a blessing to have had him as a part of this world.

Marv had one of the truest smiles and a heart of gold . He welcomed me as family on the first day I met him, again with his contagious genuine grin. I´m so blessed to have known him and to have received his kindness. Love and light to his family. I love you always, "uncle" Marv.

Marv was the love of my life. For 53 years he showed me respect and kindness. We enjoyed many adventures and laughed all the time. We will all miss him
