Marvin Leon Rosen, born on April 18, 1938, in Boston, MA, passed away on March 16, 2024, at the age of 85 in Boston, MA. He was beloved by his family and friends.

Marvin, known for his vibrant and captivating personality, was a lover of life and a force of nature. He had a special gift for making those around him feel cherished and significant. He took enormous pride in maintaining warm and caring relationships with his extended family. His spirit will forever sail on the waters off of Cape Cod, a place he held dear to his heart.

Marvin spent his early years in Brookline and attended Northeastern University. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Throughout his career in the automotive industry, Marvin displayed dedication and passion for his work, achieving great success. At the time he was the youngest employee to be promoted to dealer for General Motors. He was forward thinking, and hired a diverse workforce. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in hobbies such as sailing, fine dining, and socializing with loved ones.

Marvin is survived by his daughters, Sally Rosen and Jane Herson; his partner Anne Gilmer; his sons-in-law Brandon Schmidt and Matthew Herson; his beloved sister Sandi and her husband Steve Levy; nieces and nephews including Nancy and Peter Greene, Susi Levy and David Tyrell, Phillip and Elizabeth Levy; grandchildren, Luke, Annie and Daniel, and lifelong friend and mother of his children, Carol Rosen.

A private memorial will be held for immediate family in the summer. In memory of Marvin, contributions can be made to Hebrew Senior Life, where he spent his final days, or a charity of your choice.

Marvin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, sharing a meal with him and laughing with him. He truly lived life with gusto!

I am so sorry to learn of Marvin's passing. He was a wonderful, friendly guy who always made you feel that he was deligned to see you. He always had a ready smile and loved to swap stories and talk about good times.
He was the only one I knew who could get away wearing those Blue Suade Shoes!!

Dear Marvin
May the seas lie smooth before you.
May a gentle breeze forever fill your sails.
May sunshine warm your face,
And kindness warm your soul.
And, until we meet again,
May God bless you and keep you safe.

To the family of Marvin Rosen:
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
Marvin was a force to be recognized in Woods Hole and on Cape Cod,
He was instrumental in connecting me with the right people to get my boat in shape and help me to be a better sailor and good friend.
I miss his humor and stories of family and sailing adventures.
Perhaps we all take comfort in hoping that Marvin is sailing towards and with his dear friends that have gone before him, especially Anthony Liuzzi.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Dorothea Mautner

When Dad was in the room, all eyes were on him. My favorite picture- from the night before my wedding. Thank you, Audrey-this picture is a gift!

My uncle Marvin was the absolute best. Loved by everyone for his genuine warmth, inspirational positivity and joie de vivre. We miss him already but his spirit lives on with his family and friends.

My fondest memories of dad were when it was just the two of us on his sailboat. He was such a social creature, it was rare to have him all to myself, but I treasured those times,
