Paul Madio Obituary
He was born Oct. 18, 1915 in Norwich, to the late Federico and Vita Maria (Scolamachia) Madio. He married Kathryn Alice (Johnson) Madio on March 10, 1951 in Norwich.
He spent most of his working life in the printing trades, working as a photoengraver for Chambers Storck. He also worked for the Norwich Bulletin, and in the print shop at Norwich Free Academy.
Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater as a Tank Commander in the 710th Tank Battalion.
Besides his loving wife, Paul is survived by a son, Daniel Madio and his wife, Jane, of Harrisburg, Pa.; a son David Madio and his wife, Sally-Suzanne, of Sugar Land, Texas; a sister, Lena Cedrone of Norwich; grandchildren, Daniel Madio II and Kathryn Bonnett; and great-grandchildren, Jessica Bonnett, Lindsay Bonnett, Daniel Madio III and Benjamin Madio.
He is predeceased by brothers, Daniel and Robert Madio; and sisters, Filomena "Mamie" Madio and Yola Korenkiewicz.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, at Masonicare in Wallingford. All are welcome. Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 9. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:15. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Home, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492.
