Mary Alice Monda Obituary
Born October 12, 1942 to Robert and Marie Keefe in Erie, Pennsylvania, Mary Alice attended Millcreek Schools and graduated from McDowell High School in 1960. She went on to Edinboro University for a dual certification in English and Speech Therapy and graduated in 1964. She accepted a therapy position with the Buckeye School System in Ashtabula, Ohio. Her graduate work was at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio seeking a degree in teaching those who are deaf to speak. Later, she took a position at the Meadville School System in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
On August 5, 1969 she married John Monda who preceded her in death. She helped John in his auto parts store until she started Monda's Gift Barn on Liberty Street Extension in Meadville. Mary Alice later owned Monda's Antiques and Collectibles. She had a special passion for vintage fashion which she sold both locally and globally including via her online shop.
John and Mary Alice had one daughter, Michelle Monda (Marty Leedy) who resides in Dublin, Ohio.
Mary Alice will be remembered for many reasons from being a loving and devoted daughter, wife and mother to being a cherished friend and confidant. She cared deeply about the wellbeing of those around her and was intentional about being present for others. Mary Alice loved reasons for fun, laughter and enjoying life.

The family will be honoring Mary Alice's life privately and will not be holding a public service. In memory and celebration of Mary Alice, please consider a donation to the Humane World for Animals or the Alzheimer's Association.

I remember Mary Alice from Edinboro. After many years I sold items at her craft store until she closed it. She was a very nice person to know and do business with.

I remember Mary Alice Keefe from McDowell-- we were both class of 1960. Our paths didn't cross as much at Edinboro and not at all after. My sympathy to her family.
