Mary Ann Adams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 7, 2025.
Mary Ann Adams (Daly), 70, of Exton, PA, passed quietly on February 3, 2025. She left the way she wished-with the littlest amount of fuss and attention-next to her beloved husband, Daniel, of 46 years.

Born on April 16, 1954, in Bryn Mawr, PA, to Rita and Edmund Daly of Rosemont, Mary Ann was the sixth of eight siblings and carried the importance of family throughout her life. She was a kind and loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. True to form, she would not want a big deal to be made-but we are ignoring that wish just this once.

Mary Ann spent the beginning of her professional career as an OR Tech before dedicating her time, love, and energy to raising her three children. She raised them as beach babies, spending countless springs, summers and falls on the shores of Ocean City, New Jersey. A beach day with Mary Ann meant an endless supply of Bazooka bubblegum, Twizzlers (often coated in a little sand), and a full-scale sandwich assembly line to make sure no one went hungry. She loved nothing more than sharing those long days in the sun, followed by summer nights on the deck surrounded by family and friends.

She had a way with people, but also with animals. A true animal lover, whether it was feeding the birds in her backyard or sneaking a last bite of food to her grandpups, Finn and Teddy, she had a soft spot for all creatures-two-legged or four.

Her love for feeding people was just as legendary. She was famous for her mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes, both of which had a way of appearing in endless supply at family gatherings. No one ever left her house hungry, not if she had anything to do with it.

Mary Ann had a heart bigger than the ocean she loved so much. She was kind to everyone, but especially to those who needed it most. Whether it was a friend, a stranger, or an animal in need of care, she gave without hesitation, never asking for anything in return. Her generosity wasn't just in the meals she made or the open door she offered-it was in the way she made people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Above all, she was the best Nana. Her grandkids, "her cherubs," were the light of her life, and she showered them with love, laughter, and probably a few extra treats when no one was looking.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rita Daly (Ford) and Edmund Daly and her sister A. Christine Daly. She leaves behind her loving husband, Daniel Adams; her three children-Matthew Adams, Anne Meads (Adams), and Kathleen Adams-along with daughter in law Jennifer Adams and son in law Andrew Meads; her grandchildren, Mae and Avett Meads and Emma, Bridget and Julia Adams; and her brothers Edmund Daly and James Daly and her sisters Rita Haris, Patricia Cohen, Martha Monagle and Denise Bossard. She carried her friends in her heart, along with her many nieces and nephews, whom she always treated like her own.

A memorial service will be held at Marsh Creek Community Church-101 Crump Road, Exton, PA on Friday, February 21st at 10:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider doing something kind for a stranger-she would have loved that.

To all the Daly and Adam´s families I offer my condolences and prayers. We all have such fond memories of Lowry´s Lane and Hobson´s cottage at Beach Haven. When we were kids, that house seemed so big but as adults we wondered how we all fit in there. Mary Ann will be missed. She was such a kind person & spread sunshine always. Much love to you all, Love, Toni (McEneaney) Twiggs.

Mary Ann was always smiling and laughing. I hardly ever saw her mad. All of us cousins have very fond memories of Beach Haven and all the fun we had at Hobson´s Cottage. To us it was more like a mansion. I love remembering when Mary Ann asked me if I remembered the smell in the storage closet behind our beds while she was laughing saying it. I remembered and we both said that whenever we would smell that anywhere else it would instantly remind us of Hobson´s Cottage in Beach Haven. As silly as this was it was a fuzzy warm feeling (from a very hot closet) that we would cherish. I was surprised that someone else felt the same as I did. Love from your cousin Ronnie (McMearty) DiFuria.

Dear Adams and Daly Families,

I am sorry to hear this news. Mary Ann was so very kind to all of us Duddy Girls. Growing up, I especially loved the hand me downs, going over to visit Mrs Daly and the girls, having snacks and playing with their dog, Jet.
Please know you are all in my Thoughts and Prayers.
May Mary Ann Rest in Peace.

Growing up as a neighbor of the Daly Family was one of the early privileges in our lives. As youngsters, life on Lowry´s Lane was a safe and fun place. I remember Mary Ann always being around looking after us younger kids especially in the summer as we played outside. She was a kind, loving, and nurturing person. She was always checking on us and would often sit outside in the yard when we were playing. I remember once falling and cutting my knee and Mary Ann sitting me on the back step, cleaning off my knee, applying a bandaid, and making me laugh. She was such a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, children, grandkids, and the entire Daly Family. May Mary Ann rest in peace!
