FRANCHINA, Mary-Ann Gentile
Peacefully at home in her 89th year with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Giuseppe (Joe) and her sisters Rose MacMillan and Lena Carmody. Also predeceased by her niece Rose Marie O'Grady. Survived by her children Carmen and Nina, sister-in-law Rosa Indiviglia, brother-in-law Sam Franchina (Teresa), nieces Anna DiCenso (Vince), Maria Petrocco (the late Carlo), Maria Carrera (Stephano), nephews Tony Franchina, (Angie) and Francesco Franchina, (Kim) and grandniece Carolyn Brown (Darrell). She will be sadly missed by her Black Labrador Retriever, Ari. Mary-Ann was a retired Federal Public Servant with 43 years of service with Agriculture Canada. She was Editor and Publisher of the Poultry Market Report and was instrumental in establishing the supply Demand Report for Eggs and Poultry. Mary- Ann also served as a board member of the Dante Alighieri Society and Tele 30. A special thank you to Dr. Daniel Maher and Dr. Samantha Halman for their support and excellent care. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315 McLeod St. (at O'Connor) on Thursday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Celebratory Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 427 Booth St., on Friday, April 8 at 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Reception at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. Entombment Beechwood Cemetery. In memory of Mary-Ann donations to the Canadian Institute for the Blind would be appreciated.

I was a casual friend but always enjoyed seeing Mary-Ann at various occasions or celebrations. She was a lovely and interesting lady! Nice memories!
