What I remember fondest about your Mom is when she was my Girl Scout Leader and became pregnant with the twins. Our troop was so excited! I can still remember the baby shower and all! Then came Kristy and Kara -- too beautiful girls. We couldn't wait to see them. Your Mom was a wonderful person, always welcoming us in your home when we were younger. We had a lot of good times. Now she is in heaven with some of those other wonderful Moms too. Keep the fond memories alive and never stop talking about her. She is one terrific lady!

Cousin Joy and my sister, Sandy came to see me last year in Carson City, Nevada. We had a great time, laughing, telling stories and reminiscing about our family. I thank God that I now have that memory. I'm so sorry you lost your Mom, and I'm sorry I lost my cousin.

Dear Barry and Hammill Families: You have my deepest sympathy at the loss of such a great "Joy" in your lives. What a sad day to think her smile and laugh are no longer with you. She is a cousin I will long remember with sweet, fun memories that go back to our early childhood together.........playing under the table while our parents played cards in the dining room at Uncle George and Aunt Gert's house. Bless all of you as you make adjustments to this sad, sad loss and empty place in your lives. With love,

To the Hamill & Barry Families: Kim & Kenny I am sure you will remember me growing up in Bloomfield with all the wonderful neighbors and friends. Your mom & Aunt Betty Lou were 2 of my favorite people when I grew up on Edmond St. In fact, our families grew up together mine & your grandpaprents and all of us. Looking back now I treasure all the wonderful times we had. I know that it is sad when are parents are gone but no more suffering and they are getting things ready for all of us to be together again one day.
You can treasure the fact that your mom was loved & admired by many. God Bless you all.

To Joy's Family,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. When My mom called me and told me what happened I was in disbelief. I've known your mom since I was little from volunteering and now working at the hospital with her. She was always so kind and such a hard worker. I'll miss her around the gift shop.

My heart aches for the entire family. I am so sorry I cannot be there. I will always remember Aunt Joy to be funny, personable, and she always reminded me of the great city of Pittsburgh with her accent. Sorry we cannot be there. We are locked in because of the weather.
Peace and Love to All,

We feel very lucky to have met Joy. She was a wonderful, loving and warm person. Joy was one of those unique people that after a first meeting she made you feel like you knew her forever. She leaves behind a legacy in her daughters (their husbands) and grandchildren. A special family that was taught how to love, care and laugh by the best. Thanks for sharing her with us. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Katie, Wayne, Jamie and Mallory Ratesic
