Mary Blount Obituary
BLOUNT MaryBorn January 16, 1922 in Hucknall, Nottingham, England and passed away peacefully at the Richmond General Hospital on September 13, 2008. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank in 1969. Raised in England and served 4 years in the Royal Air Force where she met and married Frank. They travelled extensively and lived in Tanzania, East Africa for 9 years and Trinidad for 3 years. They immigrated to Calgary to raise their family. Mary retired 25 years ago to Richmond where she made many new friends and spent many enjoyable hours at both the Seniors Centre and the Library. She will be deeply missed by her children Graham (Irene) and Judith (Dennis) and was a wonderful Nana to Sean, Sara, Scott and Brittney. Thanks to Dr. Koss and Dr. Mackoff for many years of care. At Mary's request there will be no Service. Cremation and interment will be in Calgary together with her beloved Frank. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation. "It's not what we take when we leave this world, it's what we leave behind."
